FUERTEVENTURA

Fuerteventura island

WELCOME to FUERTEVENTURA

FUERTEVENTURA is the second largest Canary Island and is closest to the African coast. Fuerteventura has over 150 beaches, some with pure white soft sand, and others with black volcanic sand or pebbles. The seas surrounding the island are crystal clear with many turquoise-blue lagoons, perfect for safe family bathing.

Fuerteventura has the highest number of sand dunes and longest sandy beaches of all the Canary Islands, offering the space and freedom to walk alone on deserted beaches. Naturism is accepted and celebrated.

The landscapes of Fuerteventura are varied - barren countryside, volcanic contours, desert areas and palm tree havens, black, white and golden sandy beaches, turquoise lagoons and stark rocky coves pounded by white frothy seas.

Wildlife is varied and plentiful - from the endangered Houbara Bustard, to Barbery Squirrels (Chipmunks) and an amazing variety of marine life. It is possible to see turtles and flying fish regularly, with sightings of whales and dolphins being a rare treat.

Relax, unwind and lose yourself in the original beauty and calm of the unspoilt sunny island of Fuerteventura - the "Peaceful Island"

Resort areas cater for the needs of all, but each should be researched as they all have their own particular vibrancy. Read more…

LANZAROTE

Lanzarote Island

WELCOME to LANZAROTE

LANZAROTE is the most easterly and fourth largest of the Canary Islands.  Its strange volcanic contours provided the backdrop to the film "Planet of the Apes and "100 Million Years BC".

Lanzarote has the longest volcanic tunnel in the world and has several white and black sand beaches. Access to beaches outside resort areas, can be difficult, requiring scrambling over volcanic rocks - take care!

Lanzarote offers a strikingly beautiful stark contrast of white painted houses against a backdrop of twisted black volcanic rock. The paint colours used for buildings is legally limited to ensure Lanzarote retains her unique features and status within the Canary Islands.

The influence of artist César Manrique is evident with his wind sculptures, erected throughout the island. Marvel at his wisdom and understand why his philosophy and vision has been adopted by local authorities wth restrictions being placed on billboard advertising and  high rise buildings.

Lanzarote is more commercialised and cosmopolitan than Fuerteventura with more nightlife and a party atmosphere. If you want a holiday with more "life" and a "buzz", then Lanzarote is the ideal choice for you.
