SubCat, Morro Jable, Jandia, Fuerteventura SUBCAT (Morro Jable, Jandia)

Enjoy a truly UNIQUE experience onboard Fuerteventura's only SUBmarine-CATamaran, exploring the magical underwater marine world at depths of up to 30m. The 1-½ hour trip leaves from the harbour in Morro Jable in the south of the island.

The “Balea” was constructed in 2004 at a cost of 3 million euros, is 19.4m long and 6m wide, with 14 windows (750mm diameter) and a large entrance hatch, ensuring easy access and perfect viewing for a maximum of 30 passengers. Using innovative technology, SUBCAT has a fully qualified, competent and friendly team, who will take care of you during the trip. All excursions are accompanied by a surface boat, and safety procedures are explained and strictly adhered to.

Passengers enjoy the sun and beautiful scenery of Fuerteventura, seated on the rear deck of the SUBCAT, as it sails on the sea surface for the first 20 minutes to reach the dive site. SUBCAT then manoeuvres, and slowly dives into the silent underwater world to a maximum depth of 30m.

View the incredibly rich marine life living along the small reef - sea perches, barracudas, stingrays, angel sharks and more, and marvel at the different dive perspectives as shown from the cameras mounted on top of the SUBCAT. Approximately 45 minutes is spent underwater - plenty of time to take photos and video of this fascinating world.

Resurfacing is even more exciting than the original dive, as SUBCAT slowly gathers speed, climbing up to break the surface, emerging like a whale from the depths below.

The SUBCAT then serenely cruises on the sea surface, back along the shoreline and fantastic beaches of Jandia to the harbour of Morro Jable.   A truly unique and exciting trip - memories which will last forever!

Surfing in Fuerteventura!

Fuerteventura is blessed with good weather and consistent waves all year round so it has become a popular surf destination. With its crystal clear warm waters, together with a perfect climate and beautiful beaches, Fuerteventura is the ideal sporting venue with waves suitable for every level - beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers alike. If you want to improve your skills and style, or are a complete beginner, you can surf in Fuerteventura every day!

The best part of the island to surf for experts wishing to catch the best waves, is in the North of Fuerteventura, along the North Shore which is reached by a dirt track which follows the coastline between Corralejo and El Cotillo. This area is used by expert surfers only because of its rocky lava reef breaks.

Luckily, there are surf-schools for the beginner and intermediate surfer which use rock-free beach areas (safety first!).Schools take you to in their 4x4 LandRovers to different sandy surf-breaks, along the west coast of Fuerteventura (El Cotillo, Esquinzo, Tindaya) and the east coast (Playa Morro, Playa Blanca, Playa Grande).

Courses suit all levels and age groups, ranging from 1-day, 3-day and 6-day experiences, and you can start the course every day of the year - including Sundays!

Follow your professional surf-teachers to the waves and get stoked for your first "Ride"...... enjoy!
